A Good British Vintage Oak Bureau By Unix
Surviving from the late 1940s and made by British maker Unix - better known for their oak modular shelving, we have some of that as well!
Gone is the elaborate, fancy curves of an early era and in comes practical, neat and usefulness. We love the simple lines, little chrome fittings, those little flush ring pull handles and not forgetting the chrome capped inkwell luckily still in place. As mentioned the drop down reveals a straight forward set up – plenty of room for the mobile, keys etc. The cupboard underneath has a useful shelf.
Workshop report: It’s in good vintage order. The lower cupboard is closing fine with its key in place, the top does not have a key but closes fine. The frame is firm with no wobbles. It’s clean inside and we have lightly waxed the oak.
A great looking piece of classic British post war furniture which is neat in size.
Dimensions – Overall: Height 99cm x Width 81.5cm x Depth 27.5cm
Dimensions – Specifically the Writing Top: Height 71cm x Width 78.5cm
