A Good 1920s English Oak 2 Drawer Desk Bakelite Handles of Modest Size
A most attractive little oak desk surviving from the late 1920s and with the uncommon addition of still having its original Bakelite handles in place.
Never easy to find desk of this size from this era and this one is presented in fine order. Historically it would have started life in an office or factory and is uniform and business like in form - very practical.
Workshop report – The desk has enjoyed a repolish which has highlighted the grain well. The original Bakelite handles are still in place with no cracks, chips or breaks to them. We have waxed the drawer runners and they are running smoothly. The inside of the drawers have been painted black which looks fine. The top is only lightly marked with no chunks or deep scratches to the surface.
